Not sure if I'm hearing voices in my head.

I can hear voices/noise in my head quite a bit. But never actual words/sentences....it's like background noise/talking.

It's worse when I'm busy/stressed and its really bad if someone in real life is talking to me when I'm trying to do something /concentrate on something. It's so bad that I can't hear the real person and it makes me feel quite panicky. Sometimes without realising it I've spoken out loud saying "shush" and dh has been like "what you shushing about".

It's getting worse.

Would you go to your GP to talk about it?

What's he likely to say/do?

Perhaps refer you to see a psychiatrist to assess for psychosis or to rule it out? I was told by a psych that everyone has internal voices, but it is only if there is psychosis that they treat with medications etc if needed.

Also rule out tinnitus..
