The Pill and depression...

anyone experience deperssion whilst on the pill?

I am on dianette and am wonderign if it is accefting my moods....

how can u tell if its the pill or soemthign else?

I was depressed and on the pill, but for me I could look back and see that it started before I went on it. Could you try changing your pill and see if it helps?

I would suggest coming off it to see what your "natural" moods do, but that's how I got DD

I had this! There has been past threads about this on Mumsnet too. I was on Microgynon and I got very severe pnd, almost like a complete personality change. I became unreasonable, violent, angry, hysterical - everything! It was my then db (now dh) who connected my mood swings with the pill. Once I came off it I was absolutely fine! I would either change your brand or get a different form of contraception.

Depression whilst on the pill is really quite common and I think it's scandalous that the pill manufacturers fail to point out this side effect on their info.

the problem is i have been diagnosed with PCOs and this is the only pill u can take fo rit...

my moods werent great b4, but thats cos i had an alomst constant period for about 9 months! but this is different, fuse much shorter, angrier...

Hmmm, different contraception then I think. Sorry!
