Sertraline long-term?

Is there a limit to how long you can safely take this AD?

I've been on it for about 3.5 years, was on 200mg a day, have spent a few months very slowly reducing to 150mg a day.

I'm worried about the effects of being on it for years. At my GP surgery, I end up seeing a different Dr each time and some say it's fine to cut down slowly, some say I could be on it for much longer and one said I should reduce asap and got me really worried! Hmm

I, of course, have to balance all this with how my MH is without, or with less, drugs.

I've had depression for 20 years and been on ADs on and off since.

I can't envisage a time when I'll be AD free.

Sorry if this sounds really jumbled, I hope it makes sense.

I'm not sure tbh but didn't want you going unanswered.

Are you getting counselling or anything?

I'm on sertraline 100mg and I can't see me coming off it any time soon unfortunately - hve been on it for 1.5 years for PND.

Thanks for replying, sorry to hear about your PND.

I'm on a waiting list for counselling, how about you?
