Complex Post Traumatic Stress Disorder...

I think I have this.

I know, I know, I am not a trained psychologist or psychiatrist - but...

I have had lots of psychology sessions in the past and did mention there that I suspected I had CPTSD. The psychologist said she would be surprised if I didn't! Confused

I have had a google around for books, but they seem to be mainly from a therapists point of view, and specific books dealing with CPTSD are proving hard to find.

Of course there are loads of websites but I'm not sure which are 'proppa' ones and which ones are just trying to sell me their amazing hypnotherapy dvds for just 49.95, yes, that's just 49.95... Grin

Anyone have any experience of this disorder? Am I being way to ambitious even thinking of tackling it alone? I am on AD's, I am open to making lifestyle changes and do regular exercise and meditation all that stuff that you are meant to try... it does work for me, but I feel I've got 50% of the way to recovery, and that last 50% is a bastard to shift. Sad

If you have this disorder you will need a proper assessment and treatment plan with appropriate support, it's not a DIY condition.

for your sake I hope that you don't have it.

all the best
