ADs hypnotherapy or both?

I have been taking Cymbalta for the last three weeks and have not noticed any change in my anxiety levels so have just started hypnotherapy. Do I continue with ADs (which I don't like taking) or stop them and see if hypnotherapy works.
Has anyone else been through similar?

Hi prettypurpledaisy

It takes a while for the ads to work. I am on citalopram and i would say that the first two weeks of taking it my anxiety actually increased. It was about 4-5 weeks before I noticed I was feeling a little less anxious.

I have tried 3 lots of hypnotherapy without much success. Just cost me a fortune.
I have seriously tried everything. And I mean everything.

What is working for me?
Mindfulness cd and book.
Cbt fearfighter therapy free on nhs
Massage

If you can exercise I know that this really helps but for me I get hot and that triggers a panic attack.

If you want to pm me with any questions or advice I would be happy to respond.

I am not cured. I have setbacks. But I am able to control my anxiety before it escalates

Yes, keep going with the ADs. It can take a few weeks for you to feel the effect, but it shouldn't be much longer for you. If they still don't seem to be right for you, there are other medications you can try.

Thank you for your replies :) I am continuing on with the ADs but as yet no real difference. I just wish I could have a drink every so often :(

Sorry to hear you're not feeling a difference yet. Would you consider asking the GP if you can try a different medication? It can sometimes take a few goes until you find the right one.
