I just feel so sad and hopeless, like if I disappeared I wouldn't be such a drain on people around me :(

Hi moose, do you want to chat? In real life there's the samaritans (08457 90 90 90), but I'm not saying don't post here, just a thought as some people find actually talking to someone helps.

mooseisabunny · 08/05/2013 17:02

idk, everything just seems like hard work at the moment, and problem after problem. Im never excited or happy about anything and its bringing everyone around me down

It will get better. Hav a good cry it always helps me. Is there anything triggering today being a bad day? How long hav u been feeling like this? it sounds like ure depressed? It's likely the people around you are really being brought down by u but don't like to see u suffer, there's a difference. Pick one, sometimes someone u hardly no is useful, and cry and talk. If there is no one u feel u can do this with, I once felt the same go to ure gp or talk to ure hv. They will b able to help. I went to my gp and basically said depression and cried and he was useful. Good luck x

It sometimes takes 4-6 weeks for the tablets to work. Can you tell yourself that you need to wait out the time?

mooseisabunny · 08/05/2013 18:07

i feel embrassed that people know, i was also planning on adopting but dont think this will be allowed now it is on my gp record

I should ask on the adoption board on MN about that. They will most probably definitely know. fwiw, and from what little I know, I would not have thought that would rule you out as that would rule out about 1/3 of the country.

catherine19 · 08/05/2013 19:30

Did ure gp offer counciling as well as ad? Cos usually both are needed. I'm sure seeking help for depression and presuming it has improved enough for u to go through the complex process of adoption it shouldn't rule u out. Speaking from experience telling people in a controlled matte of fact way can help. If u had a broken leg u wouldn't keep it secret and depression is an imbalance of chemicals in the brain not ure fault. I no it's hard to d but exercise is known to help and looking at greenery so sometimes a walk if u can get the motivation. I no leaving the house or even getting out of bed can b a challenge.
