ADs and alcohol

I just started taking ADs for just a couple of days now (Seroxat [Paroxetine] 20 mg) and just noticed that I shouldn't drink when I'm on them. Not a huge deal since I'm BF and don't drink that much anyway. but has anyone ever just had the occassional glass of wine on ADs? Does it make a big difference to how you feel. Though obviously i'm not feeling any better yet!
We're going overseas to see my folks next week and it would be nice to be able to have the occassional tipple.

An MNr's DH seemed to have a v. bad reaction to alcohol on ADs iirc.

Try having a v. weak spritzer and see if you feel any diff.

agree with budababe - if you do decide to have a drink, take it very slowly at first, until you have a feel for whether combining ADs and alcohol affects you at all - sometimes you may feel more depressed the next day, or feel drunk a lot more quickly for example. personally I have never had any problems with modest amounts of drinking when on ADs, but it's a very individual thing as to whether you are not affected, or affected significantly. I'ld be inclined to avoid drinking tbh until you have been on them a bit longer, and any initial side effects have settled down.

I'm taking ADs and drink a small amount. Doesn't seem to make any difference to me.

You can drink moderately on anti-ds, but I would not recommend it if you have only just started. At first anti-ds can make you feel sick, cause bowel probs, anxiety, tiredness, etc, and drinking will only exacerbate this.
Wait a few weeks and then you can probably get away with a 'tipple'!

My DH finds that he gets a really bad hangover when he's had just one glass of wine, for example. He's pretty much given up drinking now. But he's not on the same ADs as you, so your experience might be different...

Everyone's going to think I'm preggers again! LOL
I think I'll wait a bit before I try. THough by the end on 2 weeks with my family it might be worth the hangover!!!!

I would definitely avoid alcohol as not being worth the potential problems
