Gah, I wanted to increase from 20 to 30 mg. GP agreed that I needed it but as I'm still BF, she said I'd have to stop before. DD is 2 so it's only morning and evening and I was hoping to drop the morning ine anyway but it's not going to happen overnight.

Also I wanted her to self-wean from the evening one. So now I'm Sad I'd jave to make her. Plus I feel really shit and Im disappointed about the lack if increase. I don't think I want to completely stop bf. i dont know what to do.

You should be able to have 30mg while feeding if not can your gp prescribe a low dose of a second antidepressant i take 30mg seroxat 50mg trazodone and 10mg olanzapine prescribed by my pychiatrist while breastfeeding a 1yo. Can she add 10mg seroxat that is considered very safe while feeding.

Hi Crawling. I called the GP yesterday (amazing I managed to get through) and mentioned that a 'friend' is on 2 diff ADs and would that work for me. She said I would still be advised to stop bfing as Citalopram is found in breastmilk. If i wanted to bf for much longer, she could change my prescription but it would mean I would have to come off Citalopram first and then start the new AD.
