Hi. Any advice appreciated.

My son has been ill for a couple of years and had to have operations.

He's physically well now, but won't go to school, withdrawn from his friends, low self esteem, so pointing towards depression.

We've tried lots of things, and he's just had one appointment with a Psychologist.

But he doesn't want to go back, he can't see the point as he won't understand.

I can't make him go, but I think he should as otherwise we're doing nothing.

Any advice? He's fifteen by the way.

You need to speak to CAHMS...have a look here www.camhscares.nhs.uk/

Poor ds. Sad

Have you spoken to school? I would make an appointment for advice...with the HT.

Thanks.

We're on the waiting list for Cahms.

I'm in regular contact with the school, we've tried phased returns, working in the library etc.

I wonder if I've done all I can, and it's just wait and see?

Does he enjoy any particular activity at all at the moment? Or is he not participating in anything? Can you get him out once a day for a walk somewhere with some countryside?
