WRT to MH issues (ie today I feel so low I feel like I can't even move off this chair) what do you do? What's the one little or big thing you do that makes you feel a teeny bit better?
I feel like shit today...

Oh and holding onto the fact that you may feel better tomorrow! Fingers crossed for you x x

TheKettle · 11/10/2012 12:36

Thanks Yommy. I'll go out for a walk.

I go on an aimless wander round town and change direction if I see someone I don't want to say hello to. Although today I did quite well, I spoke to 3 people, one who I haven't spoken to since my gd died.

Are there any comedies you like? I like Friends and there's usually one on somewhere. Or have you got any DVDs of your favourite programmes? There's also the catch-up channels. 4od have Father Ted and IT crowd. Something a bit funny and cosy and familiar always helps me, even if it just takes my mind off things for a while. Hope you feel better soon Thanks

I force myself to get out even for a short walk, or on my bike before collapsing back into a heap.

Thanks everyone, it makes me feel better just reading your replies.
I went out for a walk then realised the bus to the nearest small town was due so I decided to stay out and go to town. When I got to the bus stop there was a woman there who I know quite well and talk to whenever we're on the bus together. She wanted to chat as normal but I really didn't feel up to it, my attention was wandering and I just felt knackered trying to focus and concentrate on the conversation.
Anyway I'm back home and do feel a bit better.
This is the worst thing for me about depression - total lack of motivation to do anything which just makes me feel even worse.
I work at home which is a bit of a double edged sword.
Tomorrow I have some work to do and am going to go for a drive to do some shopping.

Eat chocolate and nap mostly, but I'm not sure if that is the best advice. If I'm feeling really crap I just like to sleep away as much of the day as possible. And yeah, watching favourite films/TV programmes, flicking through magazines, messing around online - anything that you can get a bit of pleasure from. I'm not really one for the whole going out for a walk thing, I just don't find it helps me, but I know it does a lot of people. Whatever works for you I guess.
