CBT does help, even though it all seems like an uphill battle.
How often do you treat yourself to some time for enjoyment?
I went on the Anger course at my local NHS. There was an explanation about the overflowing container for stress. You have to turn the tap and release some stress to let any more stress in.
I realised that it had been ages since I'd done anything for myself.
I started with the basics - bought a Grazia, Bag of minstrels, sat in bath with door locked, reading and munching.
Sometimes I watch endless comedy dvd's even though I don't laugh on the outside, I do find it cheers me up inside.
Exercise really can help. Going out for a walk alone really clears my head, especially at night for some reason - cool air, no one around to see that you look a fright.
Talking to your partner can help too. I find if I tell my husband I'm feeling angry and upset, rather than barking at him, he's more on my side.
