Present awareness

Hello, I've not been on here for a while. I'm hugely grateful to the lovely people who helped me at my lowest ebb during PND. You don't know what a difference you made.

Aside from the thanks I wanted to ask if anyone had detailed knowledge of mindfulness and 'present awareness'. I did CBT and try and practice it when I have blips but sometimes find it only deals with rational thinking and doesn't go 'deep' enough.

I've started reading about mindfulness and find this fascinating but pretty challenging to practice. Does anyone have experience of it and can tell me how it has affected them and whether it is actually possible to let go of ego in the kind of world we live in? I realise this is a profound question in a short post!

Any responses much appreciated :-)

You might want to look in the general health tamoxifen thread (dont be put off as its mainly for those who have dealt with cancer) as I know some of us three have used it (maryannesingleton got
Me into it).

I have found if helpful but with Cbt and quite a long history of psychotherapy which has helped me focus on .

Thank you for your reply - I shall check out this thread. Really interested to hear people's views on it as it's relatively new territory for me.

Thanks again :-)
