I've just been started on it.

Any experiences would be great.

Thanks.

I took 1 tablet. It made me really drowsy & my depression a million times worse. I couldn't stop crying for 2 days. I think drowsiness is the main side effect. Everyone is different but I am very sensitive to most medications.

I'm on 500mg when I first started it made me sleepy within half an hour I was sound. I take it at night and have to make sure I take it no later than 10pm as it gives me a hangover type effect. Overall this has been the most successful tablet I've taken, and generally feel really good with little side effects.

I'm starting on 25mg pet day for 7 days then 50mg for 2 weeks then review.

Helped really well with sleep last night, I'm being mindful of side effects

Definately helped me with depression/anxiety. Taking it around 10pm is good advice, I worked that one out after months of the hangover effect.

Discussed different meddling with psychiatrist for a long time and this seemed the best option.

Had a bit less energy than normal and had an hour's sleep this afternoon........does this wear off?

Thanks x

It does tend to make people sleepy, are you taking it at night? I found it helpful (built it up to 750mg).

You do get used to after a few weeks, and the sleepiness should wear off during the day. Personally I like how it helps me sleep well at night.

GetDownYouWillFall · 12/06/2012 19:16

I take 100mg at night, along with 30mg mirtazapine. It's been great for reducing anxiety / depression symptoms.

It can increase your appetite so beware of carb cravings. But you are on a pretty tiny dose, and as others have said the sleepiness wears off after two weeks or so. The max dose is 800mg so 25mg is nothing really.

Thank you.

I do feel as if it could help, but I know not to expect any 'miracles' too quickly.

my friend takes it and finds it really good but it increases your cholesterol by 15 -20% in common with a lot of other mh medicines
