Almost pre menstrual, shaky, flu like symptoms and unwell. Only lasted about a week though.

When you say bored...do you mean "flat"?

puds11 · 20/05/2012 12:06

I'm not sure. I just feel really fed up with my life, and feel like everything is annoying me and boring me. I know i didnt feel like this before i stopped tajing them, so i am asuming its a side effect?

hmm, do you think that you are perhaps not ready? have you weaned them?

tightwad · 20/05/2012 12:10

Just saying that becuase you are experiencing emotional perhaps phsychological effects rather than physical....

Maybe go back to your GP and discuss this..

Erm i didnt wean, just stopped abruptly. I was only on 10mg though, so am not entirely sure how to wean from that. I did really want to stop. They were having undesireable physical effects when i was taking them.

You should never just stop taking anti-depressants abruptly. You could try half a tablet a day or one every other day. You really should have discussed with your GP - it can make your symptoms worse.

I've been coming off 20mg for the last few weeks. I'm down to 5mg now, feel a bit PMTy but not too bad.

I did go from 20mg to 10 but felt really dizzy so went back to coming off 5mg at a time.

brightermornings · 04/06/2012 22:31

I'm on 10mg doctor told me one every other day for 2 weeks, then one every three days etc. I'm on my second week of one every two days and so far I've had no withdrawal.

I was very very silly and decided to abruptly stop taking my 40mg citalopram tablets once... I have never known vertigo like it, every time moved my eyes - I couldn't look left and right to cross a road! And I kept getting weird fizzy numbness in my head, like a concussion. I felt very poorly and very Blush for being so silly. The withdrawal symptoms took a few weeks to go away and then I was alright, but it's not something I would recommend to anyone! Wink

Rough! was really flu like for almost 2 weeks. Totally back to normal (physically) after that tho

PandaSpaniel · 08/06/2012 20:32

I have been trying to reduce from 40mg to 30mg and I feel shit, really really down. Pissed off with everyone and everything! See your doc and wean off them slowly as even 10mg is hard to come off.
