Ugh I have health anxiety and I have been ok lately, but have had a horrid virus aches and pains everywhere and other things, anyway been feeling good for last 5 days so I though I will try to start running again, so downloaded couch to 5k app and off I went. Felt a few niggles when running in my chest and tried to put them out of my mind but can't, now have back pain, pain down my left side and down my arm pain in my shoulder blades. I do get costachondritis at times and I have a chronic cough anyway as I have asthma. The pain does seem to be moving about and worse on movement (and goes away if I distract myself). Dh works away, dc are in bed and I want to cry.

well asthma and costachondritis would account for those symptoms between them.

Do you use a reliever inhaler before running? And (as a fellow asthmatic) do you warm up slowly and take it steady? Asthmatics tend to be diesel engines, slow to start but can keep going for a looooong time.

Hi madmouse I used to see you on the anxiety thread I think, I have name changed, used to be e l l i e l o u, I carry my ventolin I don't use it if I don't feel I need it. Every time I use my arms I feel it in my ribs and back :( maybe have done too much too soon. I warmed up as per the app and did some stretches. Love your comparison to diesel engines. :)

Try a puff of ventolin before you start see if it helps.

Yes, I had bad health anxiety about ds. But had trauma treatment from an amazing therapist who helped me solve what was behind it. Ds is currently ill (bad cough and temps) and I'm fine, calm and rational.

Thank you I will try that next time.

Hope your ds is better soon glad to hear your feeling good, thank you for talks to me.
