Fluoxetine and pregnancy

I'm around 8 weeks pregnant and my GP has just put me on fluoxetine. I'm sure she wouldn't have put me on it unless it's safe but was wondering if anyone else has taken it whilst pregnant? Just want to put my mind at rest really.

yes i took it. ten yrs ago, i was already on it. doc said there weren't any scientific tests done up to that moment that suggested i shouldn't, as it was too early for that drug. Yet I needed it, and we both agreed the positives were in favour.

I can't tell you if it has affected my dd obviously. Shes pretty normal!!

well i am not sure what your symptoms are, but i have got on very well with them. If you do a mn search on the drug and my user name you will prob find heaps on my experience tbh.

mine is my first and only, and words cannot describe what she has brought to my life.

This is my 2nd. DS is 7 so it's been a while since I did this lol. Had pretty severe PND before and I'm kind of feeling like I did then - really down, wanting to SH etc. I also have other MH problems. At the mo I'm not even sure if I'm going to keep this baby. I'm seriously struggling as it is and really not sure I'm going to be able to cope with a baby xx
