ADs in pregnancy?

After 2 mos of hell my gp prescribed 50 g of sertaline. It's really helped me. I've been on it for about 8 mo and lately have tried weaning myself off of it but I ended up a weepy mess. DH and I would like to try for another baby soon since I'm in my mid30s.
Are there any ADs that are ok to take during pregnancy? I've just moved so I don't know my gp well so I want talk to her armed with some info. Thanks!

Of all the ADs around sertraline is most often prescribed in pregnancy as it is deemed one of the safest. But this is based on limited data as testing on pregnant women is not ethical.

Have you tried coming off really slowly, over a few months?

Hi! I tried (under gp advise) to take one every other day and then stretch it out. I think I'll try taking half for a while and see how that goes.
DS is 10mo and rarely sleeps through the night and we're doing BLW and he hardly eats any solids. So I've been having a mum crisis which doesn't help. DH keeps pointing out that he's very active and happy so he is doing ok.

another GP who thinks taking one every other day works....Angry

Get a pill cutter (£2 from the pharmacy), take 3/4 at first for a month or so, until you feel fully settled. Then half and do the same, then a quarter and do the same. If it still feels too fast cut smaller pieces. I know a friend who was taking 1/8 of a tablet at one point.

Thanks! I'll give that a go. I knew MN would be more helpful than the gp. Grin
