i took my first sertraline tablet last night 50mg and had an awful night. Was sick at 3am, had diarrhoea, felt anxious and now feel weak and dizzy. I did take a nytol with it which didn't work at all, was awake most of the night. No energy to write more at the moment but please help. It took me so long to take the plunge with first pill. Have had them for 2 months in the drawer. :(:(

Are you taking any other medication? Have you been advised to take it at night? Have ever had a reaction to any other tablets?

Sorry to hear you are feeling so awful x

No, no other medication apart from the nytol last night. Yes, dr said to take them at night.

Was sick of fighting the anxiety so decided to try the AD's but am now terrified of another night like last if I take them again later. Have no appetite today so hardly eaten, I expect this will make the effects worse. Please talk to me if you've experienced anything like this.

Hi, I feel your pain! There is a sertraline & any other ADs thread on here that may help (maybe someone could link it? Can't do it on my phone). It's possible that the d&v is a (badly timed) virus and not due to the drugs - I would stick with it a bit longer and see how you go.

Keith- thanks have been looking on the other thread, may post later. I don't think this is a bug, not violent enough iykwim. Only a bit of watery sick and the runs I get with the anxiety anyway but never normally in the middle of the night. It was just the assault of all the symptoms last night- also felt numbs in my hands and lack if sleep that was just horrible. I don't think I've got the strength to stay on them. Just so fed up and scared for the future :(

Poor love, sounds horrible.
It's well worth being ill for a week or two for the long term benefits (just hard to remember that when it's the middle of the night and you feel awful)
