Is calling the Samaritans anonymous?

I need help, I need to speak to someone but I am scared of anyone else knowing. Will they tell anyone if I call?

Yes, my Mum was a Samaritan for years. All confidential.

I am an ex Samaritan and the calls ate completely confidential. More confidential than seeing a dr in fact. We never tell anyone anything, not even police. Can never be 100% who is calling, from where, and whether they are telling the truth so no point. The total confidentiality was something I sometimes struggled with (e.g if someone confessed to a crime) but it is something they stick to as they believe people should be able to talk freely without fear. They do keep a log of the calls, the name they give and vague subject matter but thus stays within the organisation for audit purposes and if course you can give any name you like. Good place to turn if you want totally non-judegemental support, which unfortunately you won't always get on here.

As someone else mentioned you can email too, sometimes it can help writing things down. You won't get an immediate response like with a phonecall though.
