hi i have been on citalopram for 3 years but i know want to change my meds for many reasons but mainly the lack of libido which is starting to cause real problems.
my question is has any one switched from citalopram to bupropion? i have been doing loads of reasearch and i think this is the best option x

Have you asked a medical professional whether they agree that this is the best option for you? I find there is very imited use in googling. Zyban is linked to serious side effects which your doctor may find more of a problem than libido issues.

And if you have been on citalopram for 3 years where are you in terms of maybe trying life without it? Have you completed counselling or other treatment to deal with underlying issues?

buproprion is not licensed for depression in the UK, only for smoking cessation. I have seen some specialists prescribe it but only in quite specific situations. I doubt a GP would be willing ot prescribe. There are lots of other medications available which are licensed so I would go and speak to your GP about the libido problems and what the options are.

i will not come off the anti d and i really dont want to do the counselling route, i know what the problems are.

i will speak to my gp later, like i said it is not just the libido which is te problem, the cito has leveled me out but i have no get up and go and i feel really lathargic and generally shit and very bored with everything for no reason.

You really seem open to other solutions Hmm

Knowing what the issues are is one thing, addressing them in counselling something different altogether.
