This is my 3rd episode of anxiety and ocd over last 3/4 years, started to get severe about a month ago now feelings of contamination, need to repeatedly clean things and wash clothing. I've been repeatedly disinfecting seats and door handles which feels bonkers. Affecting work, family life and social life. Started on 50mg Sertraline (which worked previously) but going upto 100mg as 50 mg not been effective really. No access to help in this area although may get some counselling through work really need CBT this time to try and get it gone for good. Feel like it will never go away I want to know if anyone has conquered OCD so I know I will come through this?

no personal experience, but if you cant access cbt, then ask your doctor if they can give you computerised cbt. Its good, assuming you have the appropriate literacy and english levels, which reading your post, you obviously do. their are some free ones, such as moodgym, but their are some that the pct, or whatever it is now called will be paying for.
good luck

Just wanted to let you know that I developed OCD 8 years ago and had a year of CBT which helped a lot. It's never gone away but I feel like I have it in complete control now and although it gets tough when i'm going through stressful times, I never feel as though it's 'too much' or out of control. I think i've just learnt to deal with it now and it's a part of who I am. Go to the drs asap and get some cbt. Hope everything works out for you x

ps. Moodgym is a good website to use :)
