How do you un-fuck your life up?

I had a life plan and it all went wrong about 15 years ago when I got myself an abusive bf. I have come a long way since but I am nowhere near where I thought I would be. I just want to get rid of the feeling that I ruined my life and instead accept the alternative outcome. Is therapy the way foward?

Counselling and cognitive behaviour therapy can be very helpful.

I think you have to be kind to yourself and take it slowly. Don't expect huge leaps, take baby steps and be proud of the little achievements. Easy for me to say but my life seems to be a monumental fuck-up most of the time, apart from DS who ended up part of it. And thank goodness he's here.
