I am so worried about my husband and would love to get some advice.

He has had insomnia for about 10 years. He says it is stress related. (He also is a night owl). Recently he got other neurological "power shortcuts" in his body, like tinnitus, among other things. I assume his senses are in overdrive for lack of a better description.

He also has a lot of anxiety and I think is depressed because of these health concerns. We have quite a bit of stress in our life right now anyway, which we can't make go away.. so that doesn't help.

I ordered the book "tired but wired" for him but he wasn't that keen to read it because he would be giving this problem so much space. He wants to ignore I think.

I think he must feel like a zombie, never sleeping more than 4 hours for the past few years. Sometimes he lies awake all night.

What can I do to help him?!

Has he ever tried a hypnotherapy CD? I suffered from insomnia after my third DS and I would say that Paul McKenna on my ipod every night, then less often, and now every month or so, really, really helped me. Worth a try? I have read Tired but Wired, it is good. The Paul McKenna CD come with a book too which also has some good advice. I understand his reluctance to read though, if he's so tired and so fed up of not sleeping. But anything is worth a try.

Thanks Becky!

Will look into that. Husband will probably roll his eyes at "new age-y" stuff, but it is definitely worth a shot.

Am glad it worked for you :-)

I know that my husband should really want to help himself before any of this is going to work, but i think he is almost at breaking point.

Show him the reviews of the Paul McKenna book and CD on amazon - most of them are very positive!
