Do you have to come of Citalopram if you're having an op?

I can't imagine you would... its acting on your brain not your body mainly!

Make sure your consultant knows about your medication, they'll be able to tell you if its ok.

I'm pretty sure not, coming from a family of medics but as LadyMedea says check with your consultant. I'm sure they would have told you if you had to as it takes times to stop taking ADs, doesn't it?

It will not be relevant for the op itself although the anaesthesist will need to know, but they will ask. It may be relevant for any hormone treatment you need after the hysterectomy.
