Worried about my Mum

DS2 was performing in his class assembly today and as usual, my parents were going to attend.

They didn't turn up. DS2 was disappointed, but he'll get over it, it's Mum I'm concerned about. I have never known her be unreliable, let anyone down or forget anything, ever. She usually organises everyone and will be the one to remind me about DCs sports/performances etc.

She's very apologetic and says she forgot, but it's so not like her. Just a one off, which she's entitled to or should I be concerned? (Dad would never usually be there unless Mum told him 10 mins beforehand)

I can't say I've noticed anything else, except she has perhaps started repeating herself, but I do that too!

If it's just a one-off, I wouldn't be too concerned.

If you think she might be worried about something, perhaps try to have a quiet word with her. But try to do it in a non-stressful way! E.g., next time you have a cup of tea with her, just ask her if there's anything bothering here. Don't make a big deal of it, though.

Don't worry about her repeating herself - like you say, we all do that!
