just been precribed citalopram

hi after visiting the doctors today i have been described citalopram for depression, this is all new to me, i dont know anyone on antidepressants or who suffers from depression. im just after some info on what exactly to expect from taking this drug if any. just going to the doctor and and admitting how i felt was a big step for me.

Well done seeking help. Citalopram is prescribed a lot and if you use the search facility on here or just scroll down you will find lots of threads about it. Side effects at the beginning are common and they can take a few weeks to really make you feel better.

Please don't be put off if you feel worse at first, keep taking them because it will pass after a week or two.

I was more tired, couldn't stay awake after about 10. Much like now with small baby :)
