Where to get help for self confidence?

Im finding my confidence holds me back with a lot of things, especially with jobs. I tend to go for things that anyone could do for that exact reason rather than the things I have qualifications in that would be more of a challenge for me.
I just panic that I will get the job and then when it comes to it I wont be able to do it.

I want to address this issue but Im not sure what the answer is? counciling? classes? Would be great if anyone has any experiance with this sort of thing. thanks.

Bumping for you, this is very common and used to be a bit of a problem for a friend of mine. In the end she just applied for a job she had the ability to do and got it. She was absolutely bloody terrified before she went in on her first day but she has made a success of it.

I think you need to identify why exactly you think you wouldn't be able to do it if you have the qualifications, what's the worst that could happen? What are you scared of? That you are a bit rubbish at it at the beginning? No-one expects to be brilliant on their first day.

If this is a problem that affects you in other parts of your life e.g. not driving, not inviting people out because you think they won't come, not putting an offer in on a house in case you don't get it, then you may need to think about CBT.
