Hi there,
I've been on sertraline for over two months now. Took about a month to feel any benefit and lots of horrible side effects. Couldn't work during this period. I only really started feeling better for about a week and then the anxiety has crept back and I feel awful again.

I've been on citalopram before but swapped to sertraline because I found the initial side effects of cital really hard. However, on 40mg of citalopram Idid feel a lot better - it just took a long time to get there, increasing the dose slowly and fighting the side effects.

I don't know whether to increase the dose of sertraline or go back to cital and start again. My GP would be happy with either. I have a 2 year old with special needs and a husband who is running out of patience so I need to keep going on some level!

Anyone who is on a higher dose of sertraline - does it help with anxiety? Was increasing the dose as hard as the inital side effects?

Maybe you know this, but whereas 40mg of citalopram is a high dose, 50mg sertraline is a low and some would say subtherapeutic dose. You may need to up to 75 or 100mg.
