Coming off fluoxetine - side effects?

Hello

I'm gradually weaning off fluoxetine. Only been on 20mg, for about a year now, after having DD2. Couldn't really tell if it was PND or just inability to cope due to tiredness, but I think I am done now.

However after doing one tablet every other day for about a week and a half I am feeling really tired. Getting a normal amount of sleep so there shouldn't be any reason for the tiredness, just wondering if it is side effect of coming off the tablets. Anything else I should be aware of?

Could be a side effect/withdrawals, this is something I know a lot about. The alternate day thing may work for you as you haven't been on them too long. But for a lot of people it doesn't work. If you start feeling bad/depressed again bear in mind it could be withdrawals and not return of depression and could be a sign that you are coming off too fast. I have been on SSRI's for a fair few years because I couldn't get off them, I've done a lot of research and I am now tapering of liquid Prozac excrutiatingly slowly, after 3.5 years I'm now down to 1.30mls. If you do want to know more, click on my name and you'll find a link to my blog with loads of information.
