Sorry - posted before writing my message. I have just been admitted to the Maudsley following 2 overdoses since new year's eve. The last one had me in ICU for 3 days. I was transferred here voluntarily rather than be sectioned.

Does anyone have any experience of being here? Or suggestions on how to get through it? I have basically just been put in a cell and not told anything at all and am scared and vulnerable Sad. I guessing I am not going to see a consultant until next week so it is going to be a long weekend and they won't let me have my phone charger - I have to give them my phone to charge for me Sad

Can you find your key worker/ named nurse and ask them what is going on?

Stay strong

You will at least get the help that you clearly need, i know things must be hard for you at the moment. I dont have any experience of the hospital personally. My FIL was in a similar hospital to you but for paranoid schizophrenia, they will i dont doubt go through a care plan with you. Remember if you are voluntary you can demand to know what is going on or ask to leave. sorry i cant offer you anymore help. I hope you feel better soon. hugs. x

They may well be observing you at present, if it's your first stay. The phone thing is common, some wards don't allow them at all.

You probably have a point there. Also i suppose people have probably tried to hang themselves with phone chargers. So its all safety until they work out how your feeling. x
