Will think of some more, I hope you're ok though.

shrinkingnora · 12/01/2012 13:21

Change for tv card? Sweets or little snacky things for in between 'meals'. Dressing gown.

cityhobgoblin · 12/01/2012 13:23

That list is more like it ! Erm - reading matter /puzzle books in case phone can't be charged , copies of important phone numbers and email addresses .
Maybe a nailbrush if you use one .

Do you have someone who can double check your flat has been left secure ? I now I can chheck & check important things like that in times of stress & still make a mistake

cityhobgoblin · 12/01/2012 13:25

hand gel /sachets of powdered drinks/a way of playing music or radio on headphones

shodatin · 12/01/2012 13:26

Seems everyone's done a good job with suggestions, and particularly shrinkingnora with snack suggestions, remembering last visit. Would a jigsaw be possible, with one of the roll-up cloths?
Hope you're OK upward and not in emergency, take care and please try to stay in touch, as we'll be thinking of you, particularly at bedtime.

Upwardandonward · 12/01/2012 13:26

Going in voluntarily as they don't think I'm safe at home, i think I'm ok but going in voluntarily is better than alternatives. They're just looking for a bed.

Thanks for all the ideas, I'm still at home at the mo and they are very helpful, need to convince myself I'm doing the right thing :(

Change for snack machine/shop if your hospital's food is anything like the one I was in last year.
Soft loo roll.

Pancakeflipper · 12/01/2012 13:32

shodatin · 12/01/2012 13:48

I think it's the safest thing upward, while not knowing details, and of course it will be very different from your last visit - I do hope you get enough nice meals/snacks.
Just PM if I can send anything, and take care now.

Upwardandonward · 12/01/2012 13:58

I'm telling myself it might have turned into the choice of come in voluntariy, or we'll organise it without your say so. Hopefully it'll sort the voices quickly.

If they have a computer room, take a memory stick in case you want to save anything (ie research notes or letters you type).

Apart from that, toiletries and clothes, notebook, pens, reading books (novels and any relavent non-fiction you might want to refer to) and written down (in case of phone charing problems) contact numbers for family/friends, usual medical contacts, solicitor (if you have one), bank etc.

ScottOfTheArseAntics · 12/01/2012 15:01

I always take a bottle of my own cordial/squash.

Good luck I hope it sorts you out.

madmouse · 12/01/2012 18:43

Hope it gets sorted quickly Upward - message me if you need anything. The offer to pop down to the W is still open from last time x

Upwardandonward · 14/01/2012 15:06

Thsnkd for all the suggestions and kind offers - one day, it would be good to be able to pack in advance.

I'm in now anyway, trying to have a quiet weekend.
