I have been prescribed 15mg for PTDS and anxiety.

Will this dose make a difference?

Has anybody got any opinion on it?

You may have been prescribed such a low dose to minimise any side effects. I've been taking sertraline 50mg for couple of weeks now and it makes me feel awful ~ sick/dizzy/headache and constant dry mouth. Over two weeks I've only taken 6 or 7 as I keep having days where I don't take it just so I don't feel so bad.

I think it can take 4-6 weeks to work so if you don't feel any different go back to your GP to have the dose increased.

I was on citalopram 20mg then increased to 40mg for 5 months in total (with no side effects) but it didn't work so was changed to sertraline.
Really hope it will start working for you soon x

I have been a bit thick, I misheard the doctor and when I came to get my prescription realised it was indeed 50mg.

First tablet taken today, I am dreading it already as the pharmacist explained the side effects.

There are plenty of odd side effects but stick with it as they do improve with time. I have been on 100mg of Sertraline for about a year. Some of the side effects got better within a week or two, others took months. I have tried other ADs before but I found they had even worse side effects. Now I am used to the sertraline it is a good option for me. ADs are always a compromise between helping you feel better and putting up with the side effects. For me the pros outweigh the cons. How are you getting on?

That is a low dose to start... I would of figured 25...then work your way up... Always surprises me when women are started at 100 a day...no wonder they are sick, dizzy, etc.!!!
