wondering if the meets are on tomorrow.

I had decided to stop (again!) tomorrow and was gonna have a bottle of wine tonight , like you do Anyway it smashed in my bag by accident glass everywhere. I was thinking hmm how could i somehow salvage the wine, hmm no i will just buy another, then just burst into tears

And now i keep crying. Didnt buy another bottle not sure why i am crying ? all i know is i gotta stop right now, so have done.

My life is fucking miserable and lonely without wine. Wonder how long i will be crying for ?

I can reply, but I won't be any help. I'm nowhere near ready to stop.

How long have you been sober for?

FrigidHare · 31/12/2011 22:31

You have done really well to not go out and get a replacement bottle. Think how good you will feel in the morning, knowing you didn't give in.

Been battling for years, been drinking this time for a few months. Drank last night, had 1/2 glass today. Im done now sick of it, I am done I just cant stop crying about it. I think i am depressed too so it means i will have to feel that instead of drunk.

Which is worse i dunno but i need to stop i just can't do it anymore.

Thanks for replys means a lot. I hope i feel good tomorrow although from experience i tend to be majorly teary and a bit desperate for a while.

I wish there was aa meet tomorrow not sure i can cope without, not sure if they are there its new years day ??

Have a look at the AA website, might have some info on meets tomorrow?

Don't worry about how you will feel tomorrow, take it as it comes, it's a new day.

Great that you are at this point, however rough it feels now x

thepeoplesprincess · 31/12/2011 23:20

I would imagine that New Year's/Xmas are exactly the times they'll be holding AA meets. You're far from alone in your struggle.

Keep fighting dude. It's a worthy cause.

racetobed · 31/12/2011 23:24

I'm stopping tomorrow. I'll start a support thread with you if you like. 2012 got to be alcohol-free for me. We can do it xxx

There will be AA meetings tomorrow. There are meetings every day. Our local paper prints the locations and times. If not, give AA a call - there will be people manning the phones.

tribpot · 31/12/2011 23:38

I Googled as well, weary - not very impressed there's no indication of holiday availability. They have a helpline you can call: 0845 769 7555. It says not to phone about meetings, I admit, but I can't see you have any alternative. It would be shattering to steel yourself for a meeting and then find it wasn't on.

Keep going .. this is my first sober NYE in a long, long time. I've been through the mill this year - just remember the only way isn't Essex, it's up.

ElectricSoftParade · 31/12/2011 23:41

Ah petal, try to get some sleep tonight and, as recommended above, look for a meeting tomorrow.

PM if you would like to. Am in the same place.

ElectricSoftParade · 01/01/2012 10:16
