Possessive and weird

I'm being possessive and weird over my baby. I've had PN anxiety ANC I'm not sure if this is part of it or not. My in laws and mother actually do my head in with the way they go on. Anything I tell them about the baby they feel the need to answer with 'I know'. They expect me to hand him over the moment they walk through the door and get pissy if I don't. Sometimes I would like to hold him while they visit! I'm just so fed up and am confused as to whether this is my PNA or normal for a newish mum (he's 9 months now). Any advice appreciated.

Everyone is different but to me it's normal. My youngest is 2.3 and I still can't stand to be away from her for more than an hour or so.

To me, it's normal. I don't think it is normal to throw the baby at the nearest person to come near - my mother said that she used to do that with me, and in hindsight it was because she couldn't cope with me.

I was/am the same with my DS. I never had any 'outside' help from family etc when he was born & although I was very ill after the birth for nearly a year...he was the one thing that held me together. DS is now 17 months & the most I leave him is for 4 hours a week while I work. I do not feel the need to leave him unless it's for that. I think your ILs need to respect you & not get pissy. Smile
