Venlafaxine & memory problems

Am on 150mg venlafaxine for last 8 weeks, but have noticed my memory isn't that great. I can't always remember who I said what to at work - a tad embarrassing at times! :o Maybe it's that time of year , but wondered if any other MNs have similar issues on this med. (have been on SSRIs for years before switching to this SNRI, starting dose of 75mgs). Thx.

I am on venalfaxine and have poor memory. When I was was on citralapram I had memory blanks and felt like I was wrapped in fur fabric. The doctor said it was the depression not the tablets causing the problems. Go back to the doctor. I am much better now, but still forgetful. I try to be mindful and say to myself where my keys e.t.c. I can't remember names or who I've told things to.

I hope you are at work rather than forgetting to look at this!

Spanky2 thanks for this. I have taken both citalopram and setraline over the years but don't remember my memory being quite so flakey as it is now. If you don't mind me asking what dose of venlafaxine are you on and how long have you been taking it? Thx

I take 35mg. My friend's dh takes 70mg and as far as I know he doesn't have memory problems. I've been taking it for 16 months. 20mg of citralopram for 8 months. Tbh I was abit forgetful before the pills! My dh laughs at my constant list making!

hello- I've been on venlafaxine for a bit over a year (150mg) and I think my memory is ok,though I do forget things (more than before) but it might be age !!

I'm on 225mg of venlafaxine and my memory is rubbish too. I've been on it for a while now though and it has improved.

Not on the same but i take an SSRI which ive had before and this time around my memory is DIRE. So so bad. :( wish i could be more helpful.
