Do you ever stop feeling tired on Citalopram?

I've been taking it for 3 weeks and I am so tired and can't be bothered to do anything. I'm usually manic and running round doing a million things and I can't stand feeling so wiped out all the time. That plus a funny taste in my mouth that makes everything taste a bit yuk. Have lost 4lbs in weight though and the lightest I've been for over 3 years so there is an upside!

I need to decide by next Tuesday whether to change ADs or not, I'm not sure I can cope with a whole new set of side effects before christmas.

I felt very energetic on citalopram but I had problems to sleep. Funny how the meds work so different on every person. My sleeping problems did not disappear with time.

I have been taking Citalopram for three days and have barely slept, I haven't felt tiredness creep in yet. It is odd how the meds work so differently on each person as banski said. I was warned that they may make me bilious or generally weird before I felt better but just feel the same so far

I never stopped feeling tired on citalopram, after only a couple of months admittedly. I didn't feel they were helping me so I switched off. But my friend worked through that and is still on them, and a lot better, so it probably is worth continuing if you feel a benefit. IME the first six weeks are ususally the worst with side-effects.

thanks lulubear I will give it 6 weeks, I'm not keen on trying some new ADs over christmas.
