Today has not been a good day

I'm having one of those days where I just want to scream.

everything is hard. DH just got back from being away at a conference. I was crying when he left on monday, I was crying when he walked in the door today.

DD who is 3 has been doing anything and everything to wind me up today including lying and her old favourite of refusing to eat.

DS who is 8 weeks old has been screaming and hard to put down.

The dog is also trying my patience.

The friend I was supposed to be meeting up with this afternoon cancelled on me because she "went shopping instead".

Now I have to start dinner and I can't face it Sad

Getdown sorry you are feeling like that hun. You could have texted me just to scream you know....that would have been totally ok.

I do think it sounds like a 'normal' bad day, as in normal for a mum with a demanding 4 year old and a new baby. You are coping xx

Maybe not start dinner? You will both survive eating something that someone else has cooked?
Takeaway? Cut yourself a bit of slack.

If you want a chat you know where I am xx

I wouldn't bother cooking dinner
Get dh to order takeaway
Do you think you need to go and see your GP?

Wolfiefan · 16/11/2011 19:54

Definitely takeaway. I have had a similar day today. Cat vomit and screaming (kid not me) Rubbish. At the point at which I stood in the drizzle in the dark and cold to cool down pasta (which wasn't bloody eaten anyway) I did have a why did I want kids again/my life sucks moment! (I love them to death and promise to smile tomorrow!!
For tomorrow. Can dog wear sling and carry baby for a bit? Ice cream and chocolate for older one if good or for you if not?
Sorry if I am now talking nonsense. Been a looooong day!

GetDownYouWillFall · 16/11/2011 20:41

thank you all. I attempted dinner. I burnt it, well part of it at least so then I cried some more.

Feeling pretty pathetic. DH now bathing the baby.

wolfie thanks for "can dog wear sling and carry baby for a bit" - that at least raised a smile on my weary haggard face! And the cooling down pasta in the dark and drizzle.

Cut yourself some slack! Two little ones under school age. I think you are a flaming hero! For future ref. You can't burn ice cream and chocolate for dinner.
P.s Dried off now!
