I self harmed for the first time

And it felt good.

I know it's not good, and I'm currently undergoing treatment for depression and anxiety, but it gave me the release I needed at the time.

It feels like it has become a safety net, something to help when everything gets too much again. At the end of the day, who is it hurting but me? And I'm ok with it.

Yeah, but you've posted here so you know this really isn't the way to deal with things is it?

I'm not an expert, just saw your post - I've lived with someone who self-harmed and, well, you know this - long-term it isn't the answer. Hope you're getting some rl help Arana.

SH is a way of either letting out pressure or helping you feel/express pain. It's a coping strategy, nothing more or less. But not a habit to get into if you can avoid it.

You may 'only' be hurting you, but that is plenty enough.

Time to seek some help for what is bothering you.
