Was given these last week by GP to take every few days to hopefully get into a good sleep pattern, i've never slept but only just made the link. Find its taking me at least 2 hours to wake up properly and i've got a horrible taste in my mouth. Does anyone know if this is normal.

The metallic taste is fairly common. They're not meant to give you as much of a hangover effect as older sleeping tablets, but what you describe is pretty common too.

I've had them before, they only have a half life of 4 - 6 hours so as long as you sleep longer than that you shouldn't feel the effects too badly. I thought they were brilliant but I did sleep for 8 hours with their help and felt no effects the next day. I didn't get the funny taste. Everyone is different though I suppose

DS - not sure what you mean by never being able to sleep but only just making the link? I have taken zopiclone very occasionally and had no side effects, but I always split the tabs in half. You could try that to see if it helps. GPs prescribe them in small doses as you can become dependent on them.

I take it but have no side effects. It sends me off to sleep wonderfully, but I still wake 3 times a night Angry I'd rather take Zopiclone than anything that made me feel horrible the next day. Can you talk to your GP about it?
