Thats it really, back to the school gate nothing more. I have social anxiety issues and find it really hard. I have school mum friends but the sort of friends you have to watch your back around, well i say friends but they are only friends in termtime weekdays and my children are always left out of any fun things they arrange with a plausible excuse, I'm kidding myself really and being an awful role model to my kids. Rant over...Sorry :(

Oh I'm sorry you feel like this, i know how it feels to be left out. I just moved to a new area and had to join a group where everyone has been friends for ages.
I approached one of them and invited her to my house and got to know her first, then she introduced me to another mum and then it went from there. but when I hear that they have all done something together and not invited me I feel horrid.
So I would advise approaching one mum and inviting her round for tea and see how it goes.
Hope tomorrow is not too awful for you x

And if your kids are happy and know you love them then you are not a bad role model

Hi namechange...I hope all went well at the school this morning. I know only too well how feeling left out can both upset & destroy your confidence. I agree with approaching one mum & see how that goes. Its hard when you are anxious...but you will feel better & more confident for doing so. Your children will see you as a role model for more than just this...
