Husband up and down with mental health problems. Angry for no reason. But now is on a course of Lithium. What a difference! It seems to have given him back a sense of humour, and he's far more easy going. Has anyone else had experience of Lithium. My brother has problems but won't seek help. I m trying to get him to try this. OK, so it won't suit everyone but, for my Brian, what a difference it has made.

Lithium is a mood stabiliser that can work really well but needs to be carefully monitored. If your brother has never been assessed for mental health problems before it is very unlikely that they give him lithium as a first line treatment.
