Can GPs prescribe Omega3 for depression?

Apparently the Omega3 in the shops are not high enough in EPA to have a real effect on depression. I was wondering if anyone out there has been given a prescription of Omega3 by their doctor?

Omega3 for depression? I doubt it. Try St Johnswort.

No unlikely you'll get omega3 from doctors. However you could try including oily fish in your diet as it's very good for you. I'm not mad keen on oily fish myself but try to eat it when I can. It's supposed to help mood but unfortunately won't be enough on its own.

No but I can recommend this: www.vegepa.com/
It is high EPA, I've been taking it a few years now.
