depression during pregnancy

Hi,
Has anyone had to come off of anti-depressants because of falling pregnant? x

I think it depends which ADs you are taking and what the risks are of not taking them in case it leads to PND, some info on here.

Thanks you i will have a look at the link. I was on escitalopram (cipralex) my doctor didnt give me the option of staying on them or any other anti-depressants but now im struggling to cope i feel extremely irritable. Iv been off of them for 6 weeks now and dont feel any better. I had to do the same in my first pregnancy and it did lead to PND so i fear it will happen again. Have you had a similar experience?

Yes i had to come off ADs when i was pregnant although it was a lot of years ago and it did lead to PND and ended up back on them again, if you are intending to BF that would limit which ADs you can take but there are some safe ones, best to have a word with your GP and tell him/her how you are feeling and are worried about it leading to PND again as there are other options.
