this is going to sound crazy but I keep feeling something move inside me, it's as if I'm pregnant.

I've done a pregnancy test which was neg so I went to my Gp to ask for a blood test. He felt my stomach and said I'm not pregnant so won't do a blood test.

But I'm lying here and I can feel it moving. I think nobody is taking me seriously because of my mental health history.

What do I do??

Memoo rationally speaking there are two things that can move inside you: a baby, which has been ruled out, and bowels if they are a bit restless. Totally harmless and a feeling you have no doubt had before.

I think you need to be taken seriously in that you believe that you feel these things. But taking you seriously also means accepting that sometimes you have felt or thought things that were not totally rational, including very recently.

Try to relax and accept that there is nothing weird going on in your tummy x

Memoo I've had this as well, sounds like a twitchy muscle. I'm especially prone to them as I get IBS, but anyone can get it.

If it makes you feel better a friend of mine had the same thing and got her gp to do a pg test too! So you're not the only one to get worried.

I'm trying really hard to rationalise this but I'm struggling.

I so sure there is something inside me moving. I'm terrified of being pregnant, another baby would tip me right over the edge, I'm barely hanging on as it is.

Okay.
Is pregnancy something you are worrying a lot about? Could this be a symptom of a phantom pregnancy (combined with a twitchy stomach muscle?) Could it even be something like worms? (more bowel than stomach I know but still)

Do you have someone you can talk to about this? (mental health nurse, counsellor etc?)

I have an appointment with my psychiatrist tomorrow.

I developed really bad depression after having my last dc and had some periods of psychosis which resulted in me being admitted to hospital. I'm so scared of getting pregnant again. Dh has just had a vasectomy but I'm worried I conceived before his op. I'm worried I'm going to be one of those woman who only finds out she's pregnant when she is in labour.

Hi I've had this too.

Feels just like fluttery movements but really low down (just above pubic bone). It was more noticable when sitting, or lying down, I'm definatley not pregnant. I also have IBS so it might well be just bowels!

I haven't felt it in the last month or so so hopefully it will pass, it is disconcerting though but your not imaging it.

Memoo your fears of being pregnant are taking over - those women that only find out when they are in labour (and it happens - the daughter of good friends was one!) don't do pregnancy tests like you have, don't have a doctor feel their tummy like you have, it basically doesn't cross their mind. You can feel babies moving from about mm 15-20 weeks, well by that time if the possibility of a pregnancy occurs to you you will find out. Missed periods, lots of weeing, growing tummy, and most definitely a positive test!

I've had this Memoo - that very specific fluttery feeling - I think when dd was about 1. I never found out what it was and it went away after a while but I definitely wasn't pregnant. Good luck.

I saw my psychiatrist this morning and she has increased my medication and referred me back to the crisis team so I'll be getting a lot more support.
Feeling a bit calmer, still getting the feelings in my stomach but just trying to tell myself I'm not pregnant.
Thanks for the replies, they help a lot xx
