I've been on it a week and I feel like I have morning sickness!
My anxiety has been worse but I was prepared for that.
On the upside I may well lose the few extra pounds that I'd put on through comfort eating Grin

When can I expect it to 'kick in' or at least when will the 'morning sickness' fade? (btw infertile so not pregnant!)

Also forgot to ask - what's your experience of fluoxetine so far? Good? Bad? Indifferent? How long have you been taking it?

Hello, I got put on Fluoxetine just yesterday, so have only had one pill so far and therefore have nothing useful to tell you yet! When I went to collect them from the pharmacy though, I was told to have them immediately after food, with water, otherwise they would make me feel sick.

I had a terrible day yesterday, my worst so far. I feel OK today. I think that's more due to my up and down days rather than one pill though, I doubt they work that quickly! Grin

it will take a few weeks to kick in. i used to take them first thing as they disturbed my sleep otherwise. if your anxiety does no subside go back to teh doctor asap.

i was on it for a while a few years ago, it does help good luck. i came off them as i wanted to feel 'myself' again. i don't think it is a long term solution

BaadRobot I think that there is a bit of placebo effect though - you starting taking them and think 'ahhhh that's better' at least for the first few days!

BelovedCunt I'll be seeing the doctor next week so I'll see how I feel then.

I'll be sure not to take them on an empty stomach to lessen the effect.

I'm on fluoxetine, been on it for a couple of months having come off paroxetine.

I felt really sick for a while, but it has settled down now. I got some anti-sick pills from the chemist, not sure how much they helped though. They began with M (memory like a sieve me!!). I did lots of sleeping (I'm good at that, in the day time anyway, not so much at night lol)

I'm finding I'm quite settled at the moment so it seems to be working fine.

I've taken it for about a year and am definitely less unhappy most of the time. I don't think I ever had any side-effects though, so can't advise when they end! Am sure you'll feel better soon, if not, there are lots of other drugs.

PersonalClown · 11/05/2011 14:03

I've been on and off for years.
I found that any side effects wear off after a month or so.
But that it just my experience.

I don't think I'd be able to cope without them at times.

Hello. Am back on it after a break of a few years. Probably on it for life now. I dont get many side effects but have found in my personal experience that i notice a difference in a couple of weeks then a marked difference after about a month. HTH

I just want my life back. I want to be able to do normal things, but I need some extra help in the form of, well, prescription drugs Blush

I went totally to pieces last year and I'm still slowly slowly getting better. I never thought that pushing a trolley around tesco would be a serious life challenge Sad

Ah well
