Depression & life assurance costs

Wondered what your experiences are in terms of additional costs if you declare that you have depression. Need to ensure that DS and DH have good coverage, but guess if you are on ADs it could invalidate the claim if not declared to the insurance company? Any advice? Thx! X

I'm not sure what my actual additional costs were TBH, but it did put the cost up a fair bit. I had depression over 10 years ago but the insurance company obviously didn't like it as the cost shot up.

I'm not on AD's but I did declare everything.

One company wouldn't insure me, but TBH I can't remember whether that was because of my mental health history or my gynea history (almost had cancer and had hysterectomy).

Travel insurance is a nightmare, house insurance quote was just not worth it to cover me nto being able to work. If I lied and did it without telling them and then needed to claim they could find out my medical history and then refuse to pay out, which would be wasted money into a scheme as companies are keen not to pay out anyway in general - so being honest is helpful.

I do get travel insurance but it costs more! Such is life sadly.
