Hi charlieboo - I don't know anything about PND as I had my kids 40 years ago and it wasn't heard of in those days, but I do know what severe depression is like. I have had 2 major episodes (both needing inpatient care in psych ward) the last one last Easter and I am still trying to get over it. There are many "ups and downs" in depression recovery - the medics call them "blips" or "setbacks" and say they are to be expected. It is one of the most exhausting and frustrating thing about depression. Like you I just convince myself that I am ok and lo and behold there is another blip.

There is a thread at the moment called "Blips and Beyond" - might help to have a look at that. I think depression is self limiting - it's just a matter of time, but you will get there in the end. Look out for natsyloo on the threads as she has had PND and had many ups and downs but i think is more or less recovered now. If you see her name you could PM her (just click on message poster on blue strip) I'm sure she won't mind. She has just started a group for women suffering from PND - you never know you might live near each other!
