Just wondering if anyone has any experience of having a financial appointee due to mental ill-health?

My MH SW mentioned it last year, but I kept putting her off, as I was very Blush But now, I feel that maybe it wouldnt be such a bad idea. As I have very very little family/friend support, I am guessing it I would have to have the LA as my appointee?

If anyone does take the trouble to reply, I apologise in advance if I am slow to respond - am having a lot of trouble with my internet at the moment.

I am my disabled DS financial appointee and his DWP apointee which means i can talk to benefits agencies, bank etc on his behalf as he cant manage himself so having someone as your appointee can benefit you if you find it hard to claim benefits and keep a check on your bank account, if you decide to do this make sure it is official and find out exactly how they will be involved and what you want to do yourself as the extent to which your appointee is involved can vary from one person to another.
