Citalopram and constipation

Hi, I have been on citalopram 20mg for 4 months, feel it is helping, but have been horribly constipated with nasty wind! I know it is a side effect, but does anyone know a good way of dealing with it? I have never suffered before. Thank you.

Good to hear the citalopram is working for you. for the constipation, you're first port of call would be lactulose. If its an ongoing problem, you have to take it every day to keep you regular. It works well usually though. If you don't pay for prescriptions, ask your dr for it

You could take Fibergel for it and yes it's a side effect of citalopram.
