saw gp this morning as citalopram doesn;t seem to be working and also causes me weight gain.

Anyone got any experiences of sertaline or duloxetine - gp siad i could chose which one to take.... and don't know which to chose.

Read you shouldn't drink if talking duloxetine but gp said ok.
Also been referred for cbt.
Any thoughts of which i should take?

Sertraline is good for me, I really like it. Much better than Seroxat (I had to have that as BF at the time) but it has caused some weight gain for me. However, I'm a pretty emotional eater which has definitely contributed to it. I don't know enough about duloxetine to comment though.

I would totally recommend going full pelt for the CBT though, whichever you choose.

I can't comment on duloxetine but sertraline really works for me.

I've been taking it on and off and at various doses for the last 15 years or so and I haven't noticed any side effects.

Second MissV - go for the CBT too. Again, this really worked for me.

Good luck!

I took sertraline for quite a while, it worked and gave no side effects. Had to come off it due to other reasons.

Duloxetine is one of the newest AD's... originally produced for urine incontinence (so my psychiatrist told me!) but they found it had AD properties at a different dose. That is all I know. Perhaps you could ask the Gp to give you the information on both? All the best - CBT sounds useful.
